There are in fact four instances of this quest; one for each of the four victims in the torture chamber in the Dawnstar Sanctuary (provided of course, that you have purchased that upgrade in Where You Hang Your Enemy's Head…).
Torturing, well actually just talking to, each victim in turn will lead the Dragonborn through a short conversation in which the victim reveals the location of a treasure. This generates the instance of the treasure (none of the caches are present prior to this quest) and luckily adds a map marker for each treasure (that would otherwise be pretty difficult to find).
Old woman[ | ]
With sufficient prodding, the old woman reveals that she hid her inheritance in the stump of a tree, south of Solitude. This is north-east of the The Apprentice Stone, and yields 2000 
.
Young woman[ | ]
With sufficient prodding, the young woman reveals that her father has hidden her dowry in a hollowed-out tree stump, just outside Riften. This is to the north-west of the Merryfair Farm, and yields 1000 .
Dark-haired man[ | ]
With sufficient prodding, the dark-haired man reveals that he has hidden his treasure a hollowed-out rock, in the tundra, a bit south-west of Whiterun. In the vicinity of Pelagia Farm, and yields 2000 .
Red-haired man[ | ]
With sufficient prodding, the red-haired man reveals that he has hidden some money in a hollowed-out rock north of Windhelm. Yields 1000 .
