Aela has received a lead on the location of a fragment of Wuuthrad. She wants you to retrieve it for her.
Walkthrough[ | ]
The first of the 12 fragments was discovered in Dustman's Cairn during Proving Honor, so there are another 11 fragments to retrieve.
At the southern end of the Jorrvaskr hall, near the stairs leading down to the Living Quarters, these fragments will be displayed on the wall. Fragments already discovered (even from before joining the Companions) will show up there as well.
Retrieve the fragment of Wuuthrad[ | ]
You will be directed to a random dungeon in Skyrim. Simply head there and fight your way through the dungeon. The fragment will be at the end of the dungeon. The possible dungeons are:
- Broken Helm Hollow
- Cragslane Cavern
- Faldar's Tooth
- Fort Fellhammer
- Gallows Rock
- Lost Knife Hideout
- Orotheim
- Redoran's Retreat
- Swindler's Den
- Treva's Watch
- Valtheim Keep
Note: Systematic exploration may let the Dragonborn find most of the fragments before even joining the Companions.

Just pick it up and make your way back to Aela to finish the quest.
