A quick talk to the quite rude and arrogant Harrald in the Mistveil Keep yard in Riften, brings up the subject of him only wearing a dagger. Apparently he was clumsy enough to break his sword, but feels that the Dragonborn is worthy of retrieving his fixed sword from the town's blacksmith: Balimund.
Pick up Harrald's Sword from Balimund[ | ]
Balimund can be found in front of the The Scorched Hammer, near the central marketplace. Balimund shows contempt for Harrald's laziness to walk the few steps from the barracks yard to his shop, and that Harrald should stop hitting walls and thereby breaking his sword.
Deliver Harrald's Sword[ | ]
Return with the sword to Harrald.
