Walkthrough[edit | edit source]

Once the Dragonborn has done enough of the jobs provided by Vex or Delvin, five jobs per the four main cities in Skyrim, the following quests become available:

Completing all these quests will have given the Thieves' Guild a strong foothold in every one of these cities, restoring the Guild's power to its former glory, unlocking the quest Under New Management.

Speak to Brynjolf about becoming the Guild Master[edit | edit source]

Simply head back to the Thieves' Guild and talk to Brynjolf, who will be waiting in the Cistern's training chamber.

Brynjolf thinks it high time to make it official, it is time for the Dragonborn to become Guild Master. Nothing too pompous though.

Proceed to the centre of the Cistern[edit | edit source]

Then head to the centre of the Cistern, where Vex ("Sure, why not."), Delvin Mallory, and Karliah ("Absolutely.") together with Brynjolf will agree that the Dragonborn is a worthy new Guild Master of the Thieves' Guild.

Become the Guild Master for the Thieves' Guild[edit | edit source]

Brynjolf: "[So I] name you Guild Master and wish you good fortune and long life."

Speak to Brynjolf about being Guild Master[edit | edit source]

Brynjolf excuses the lack of ceremony, but gives the Dragonborn the Tribute Chest Key (for the Guild Master's Tribute Chest in the Cistern) and an Amulet of Articulation.

Retrieve your Guild Leader Armor from Tonilia[edit | edit source]

Talk to Tonilia about the Guild Master's Armor Set that Brynjolf also mentioned to pick up.

Aftermath[edit | edit source]

With officially being the Guild Master, Tonilia has a first important diplomatic mission for the Dragonborn: Deliver Moon Sugar to Ri'saad. Negotiate with the leader of the Khajiit Caravaners, Ri'saad to use their services as a way to transport goods around Skyrim. After that the caravan merchants also become fences for the Thieves' Guild. Reward: 800 Gold.png at L68.
