Ravyn Imyan is a new member of the Thieves' Guild who joined it after it has risen back to its former prominence in Skyrim.
He is a former member of the Morag Tong, who journeyed to Skyrim after a certain incident he declines to go into detail about caused Morrowind to become inhospitable to him. Due to his association with the Morag Tong, the Dark Brotherhood are disinclined to take him in, so he has chosen to join the Thieves Guild instead.
