While blocking, creates a ward that protects against spells for up to 50 points.
Spellbreaker is one of the most ancient relics in Tamriel, and the wielder of this unique shield is almost completely protected against any spellcaster. The shield creates a Ward when blocking. That works identically to any Ward spell found in the school of Restoration. It can negate up to 50 points of magical damage, which is really useful in a defence stage when fighting a mage. The Ward is reset every time the shield is raised and the shield does not need to be recharged with Soul Gems.

- Uses Dwarven Metal Ingot as an upgrade ingredient, but has no benefit from the Dwarven Smithing perk.
- When attempting to block spells that are more powerful than the shield's Ward can withstand, the Ward will break and the player will stagger, making it inefficient against very high-level mages and dragons.
