The Iron War Axe is a one-handed low-tier war axe. It can be forged at any smithing level. The Iron War Axe has a base damage of 9, speed of 1.1, and reach of 0.8 feet. It has a base value of 30, with a weight of 11. It can be upgraded at a Grindstone with an Iron Ingot. The Iron War Axe can be smithed in a Forge using 2 Iron Ingots and 2 Leather Strips, under the Iron tab.
Iron War Axes can be found enchanted and unenchanted as general leveled loot in miscellaneous treasure chests and in the world randomly. It can also be purchased from blacksmiths and merchants.
During Unbound, if Ralof is followed, it is the first weapon available to the player, sitting near Gunjar (Stormcloak soldier)'s body in the room where the player's bindings are removed.
