The Fighter's Guild is a professional association of private mercenaries that functions by commercial contract throughout the Empire of Tamriel, save the province of Skyrim. There, instead of the Fighter's Guild, there stand the traditional mercenary guild known as The Companions.
The Fighter's Guild maintains a nominal standard of character in its recruits with the standing requirement that an incoming member have no outstanding warrants nor fines, and that existing members maintain a clean criminal record as well.
The guild also functions to teach members the combat arts, and to manage the allotment of contracts. It is led by a guildmaster who oversees the operations of all chapters beneath the guild's aegis.
