The Dawnguard are a group of vampire hunters, led by Isran who are introduced in The Elder Scrolls V: Dawnguard, an official plug in to The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. They are one of two joinable factions. Their mission is to rid Skyrim of the Volkihar Vampires, led by Lord Harkon who is planning to blot out the sun.
The Dawnguard vampire hunters' base of operations is Fort Dawnguard, which the Dragonborn can also use as a home.
