Anise is an old woman who lives by herself in a cabin just off the road leading from Helgen to Riverwood. Searching her cabin reveals that she is an alchemist and a witch but she does not want this known and will attack if her secret is found out. Her cellar has an Apothecary's Satchel, which can be used for safe storage.
She also takes out a contract on your life (even if you kill her).
