Talvas Fathryon is the apprentice of the eccentric and quite demanding wizard Neloth at Tel Mithryn. Tel does not think his master is a good teacher though, but simply by watching Neloth work, he has learned a lot.

He can explain about Heart Stones.

The Dragonborn first encounters the mage trying to conjure an Ash Guardian, which seems to fail. After having talked to Neloth, the Dragonborn is asked by Tel to take out the rampaging ash guardian though, and keep it quiet from master Neloth in the quest From the Ashes.

After the quest Talvas becomes available as a follower, Conjuration trainer and merchant selling books (many spell tomes), miscellaneous items (soul gems), additionally buying weapons, apparel and scrolls.
