Markarth is a city built into a cliff on the foundations of an ancient dwarven city in Western Skyrim. There is a massive Dwemer ruin underneath Markarth. Markarth is ruled by Jarl Igmund. Markarth has a major problem with a group of Breton raiders, known as the Forsworn, who believe that Markarth belongs to them and not the Nords. There are quests and bounties concerning the Forsworn.
